Jane Zhang is apparently furious with a mixing engineer for leaking the studio version of her unfinished new song “Add More”.
The singer recently took to Weibo to express her ire, stating that she is out of words for having met someone who would do such a thing in 2026.
She retorted, “Do you know that releasing an unreleased version of a work on a public platform without the permission of the singer and copyright company is copyright infringement and illegal? Do you know that releasing each version of a work requires separate copyright clearance before it can be used? Do you know that different versions of a work require time for recording, editing, mixing, and waiting for the right opportunity to give the work its maximum potential?”
“And this isn’t even finished yet! Do you know what kind of negative atmosphere your short video has created for the music industry? As an industry professional, such disrespect for the hard work of your colleagues is appalling. If all unreleased song versions can be uploaded to the internet at will by behind-the-scenes staff, using other people’s unreleased works as a basis for promotion, who would dare hire you for post-production?”
It is reported that the account involved not only titled the video as “Appreciation of Remix Work,” but also directly tagged Jane herself. Their aim seemed to be to use the singer’s fame to boost their own account. The account had since been set to private.
Jane Zhang’s studio has also issued a statement, stating that it has the right to pursue legal action.
