Xu Kai recently revealed that he has had experienced a failed anaesthesia once, back when he was undergoing surgery on his left cheek.
In a recent livestream with fans to celebrate his 31st birthday, the “Story of Yanxi” star revealed that he once decided to have surgery to deal with a sebaceous cyst on his left cheek. And since he has fear of needles, he was under great pressure about invasive medical procedures.
Unexpectedly, said Xu Kai, halfway through the surgery, the anaesthesia suddenly wore off, and he had to endure the excruciating pain of the doctor stitching eight stitches into his face without any pain relief.
He described the feeling at the time as “unbearable pain,” and that surgery remains a traumatic experience he can’t erase to this day.
However, Xu said that he was glad that his wounds healed well to a point that there were no visible traces. He then pointed to his face and said, “You can’t really tell now, can you?”
Asked when that happened, the actor said that he couldn’t remember which year it was.
