Terrance Lau was recently awarded the Rising Star Awards at the Asian Film Awards, which was held in West Kowloon on 15 March.
The actor, who was presented with the accolade by Peter Chan and Sunny Chan, expressed backstage that he is already so happy just to be back at an awards ceremony.
“It’s been a long time since I attended an awards ceremony. Awards are a form of recognition for actors, which is definitely necessary and a great encouragement, but I wouldn’t dare say that this award will give me a shot in the arm for my career,” he said.
He also added that he will immediately return to work the day after the awards ceremony and will continue to work hard.
When asked about his most memorable filming experience, Terrance said that each film presents different challenges and difficulties, making them all unique in their own way. However, he admitted that his collaborations with his now wife Cecilia Choi were particularly profound and unforgettable.
“I’ve been writing my own stories, which I recently completed and am currently preparing for, hoping to broaden my horizons,” he added.
