Liu Haoran has recently been honoured with the Next Generation Award at the 19th Asian Film Awards.
The actor, who attended the event on 15 March at the Xiqu Centre, West Kowloon in Hong Kong, said that receiving such a recognition was quite exciting after being in the industry for the past 12 years.
“I am very grateful for this honour. The words ‘Next Generation’ remind me that as a young actor, I need to be more grounded and work harder to live up to the audience’s expectations,” he expressed.
Speaking of memorable filming experiences, Liu mentioned working with Chow Yun-fat on the film “Detective Chinatown 1900” in 2024.
“I grew up watching Chow Yun-fat’s movies and have always considered him my idol. It was a great pleasure to work with him. He was very willing to share his experiences and would take us running. We even made plans to run a half marathon together,” he said.
Asked if he would do so in the near future, the actor said that he has a tight schedule and may have to try to do so another time.
Liu also stated that as he gets older and gains more experience in acting, he is interested in taking on more mature roles, including that of a father, in the future.
