Qin Lan recently has a new update on the state of her voice, saying that she had just undergone vocal cord surgery that has now changed her voice from EDM to Wolf Granny.
The actress, who was on the variety show, “The Inn,” revealed that she underwent surgery in hopes of improving her long-standing voice problem. However, the postoperative recovery did not meet expectations and that it has now become hoarser than before.
“It used to sound like a cartoon character, but now it feels like the Big Bad Wolf,” she joked.
Qin Lan’s voice problems can be traced back to 2019 when she filmed “Story of Yanxi Palace,” where a crying scene triggered pharyngitis. In 2020, after starring in “Legacy.” she was diagnosed with unilateral vocal fold paralysis (UVFP), and even after four months of rest, the condition was not completely cured.
Although her condition briefly improved in 2025, it has been recurring and she has never fully recovered.
