It was revealed that Jisoo has been named this year’s recipient of the Canneseries’ Madame Figaro Rising Star Award.
The award, given to individuals who has become a major figure in the industry, will be presented at the festival’s opening ceremony on 23 April in Cannes.
According to Canneseries artistic director Albin Lewi, Jisoo’s artistic journey, her ability to conquer new creative territories, and her global aura made her the ideal honouree.
Past recipients of the award include Sydney Sweeney, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Morfydd Clark and Phoebe Dynevor.
Jisoo, a member of BLACKPINK, has carved a different path for herself for the past couple of years. Instead of opting for the international route during the group’s hiatus, the singer decided to focus on her acting career, starring in movies and dramas like “Snowdrop,” “Newtopia” and “Boyfriend on Demand.”
