Hong Kong actress Anita Yuen has been nominated for Best Actor/Actress of the Golden Petrel Awards at the 2026 Asian Arts Film Festival.

The actress, who is nominated for her performance in the Malaysian comedy, “OMG! Mom’s Big News,” will face competition from other worthy contenders including from Japanese actress Rio Yamashita and Argentinian actor, Jesus Catalino.

Producer Tong Bingyu revealed that upon receiving the news of the nomination, she immediately shared the good news with Anita and couldn’t wait to share this joy with the Malaysian audience.

“The movie is a very relatable and heartwarming work. Anita Yuen not only brought to life the inner conflicts, fears, joy and struggles of the older mother in the drama, but also made the audience rethink the meaning of family and love,” she said.
