Huang Zitao has recently denied rumours that he is going bald, and instead admitted that he suffered from a bald spot.
In a recent livestream with fans, the singer stated that the only bald spot he has was on the back of his head, also known as alopecia areata, which he said was caused by excessive dieting and abstaining from carbohydrates two years ago.
Said Tao, his condition wasn’t serious initially, but his mother suggested he apply ginger, emphasising that his hair would grow back the next day.
Believing his mother’s words, he applied two or three pieces of ginger at once. However, not only did it not solve his hair loss crisis, but he realised that there was “not a single hair left!” the next day.
“The more I rubbed, the balder I became,” he exclaimed.
Tao jokingly said during the livestream, that his biggest regret in life was listening to his mother and applying ginger. He advised people with alopecia areata or hair loss to never do that.
However, the singer said that after several months of treatment and a balanced diet, he has finally recovered.
