After sparking heated discussion about a career change, Wong You Nam finally revealed the reason why he was seen driving a bus recently.
In a recent interview on the radio show “Behind the Stars,” Wong revealed that the pandemic and the downturn in the film industry over the past five years have reduced his workload, leading him to consider starting an online channel.
He said, “I used to film four movies a year, now I don’t even do one. Driving is partly a hobby, but the biggest reason for starting a channel is that I don’t want to be disconnected from the camera.”
Admitting that he has always loved driving, the actor actually obtained his minibus driver’s license back in 2014 while filming the movie “The Midnight After,” and even collaborated with a bus company for three months to obtain the relevant license.
His return to bus driving this time is related to his online channel “Runaway Joke,” which he has been operating for three years, mainly to produce content for the programme.
Regarding rumours that his work as a driver was due to financial difficulties, he stated frankly that this was not the case, jokingly adding that even his family had mistakenly thought he had changed careers. In reality, he has always run multiple businesses.
