Louis Koo recently spoke for the first time about his many ailments since childhood, but one of the conditions has now really attracted netizens’ attention.

His mild amnesia.

In a recent sit-down with Carol “DoDo” Cheng, where Louis admitted to having blood clot in his brain due to oxygen deprivation at birth, the TV personality asked him about his rumoured mild amnesia, which he then confirmed.

Louis stated that the condition is unrelated to his aforementioned childhood health issues, and that his “amnesia” is more about forgetting certain things.

“I’m not sure if it’s because I see so many people every day as an actor that I’m a bit face-blind. I often think, ‘Hmm, this looks familiar, who is it?’ When people ask me if I remember, I don’t remember, I really don’t remember,” he said.

However, the actor said that it did not affect his professional work in the slightest.

As an actor, Louis said that memorising lines is his profession and responsibility, so he remembers the script and blocking details very clearly, even to the point of having a photographic memory.

Interestingly, this extraordinary memory seems to only activate during work. He joked that once the director has finished filming and there are no reshoots, he might forget it afterwards, and that sometimes he would completely forget that he ever acted in a certain film.

Louis also mentioned several accidents he has experienced throughout his personal life. Besides being kicked in the head by a horse when he was a child, temporary blindness due to the blood clot, he recalled being hit by a truck on the day of his high school graduation ceremony because he was too excited to pay attention to the road.
