Michelle Wai seemed to have a strange fixation with paying tax, as she admitted in a recent interview with the media.
The actress, who made an appearance at a fitness event recently, revealed that her workload has now increased significantly since winning Best Actress at the Hong Kong Film Awards for “The Last Dance”.
This, she said, reminded her of back when she was starting up as an actress.
“When I first entered the industry, I even went to the tax office to ask why I hadn’t received a tax bill. I thought that I had to pay taxes just because I was working. At that time, they said that my income hadn’t reached the tax threshold yet,” she said.
She then smiled and jokingly added, “Now I can finally contribute my share. Thinking back on that scene is still very vivid in my memory.”
She also revealed that she is in talks for several films, including Hong Kong productions, and the filming schedule is expected to be booked until June.
