Masami Nagasawa surprised fans on the New Year with news that she is now married to film director Takeshi Fukunaga.
Sharing the news via her agency’s website, the actress expressed, “I sincerely apologise for troubling everyone with such personal news. I have officially registered my marriage to film director Mr. Takeshi Fukunaga. In the days ahead, we will support one another, cherish each day of our lives, and move forward step by step through every stage of our journey together.”
“Although we are both still far from perfect, I would be deeply grateful if everyone could continue to watch over us with warmth and kindness,” she added.
Takeshi Fukunaga is a Japanese filmmaker based in New York who has helmed critically lauded films like “Out of My Hand,” and “Mountain Woman,” the former premiered in the Panorama section at the 65th Berlin International Film Festival and won the US Fiction Award at the 2015 Los Angeles Film Festival.
He has also helmed several episodes of TV series like “Tokyo Vice” and “Shogun”.
