It was recently reported that Mei Nagano is now looking to sell her luxury home, amid the huge sum of penalties she is facing following her previous scandal.
According to a Japanese news outlet, the actress intends to personally shoulder all compensation, after her scheduled drama and advertisement projects have all been cancelled due to the controversy surrounding her affair with married actor, Kei Tanaka.
A source further explained that a management agency usually would pay the compensation first, with the artiste then getting their fees and salaries deducted to repay them.
However, it is reported that Mei intends to bear all compensation costs herself. In order to do so, Mei reportedly plans to sell her luxury house, which she purchased in 2023 for supposedly 400 million yen, to raise cash and alleviate her financial issues.
At the same time, the actress hopes to cultivate a “responsible” image and salvage her declining popularity.
It was back in April that Mei was exposed by a weekly magazine for allegedly having an extramarital relationship with actor Kei Tanaka. She denied the accusations and apologised to fans for causing the misunderstandings. However, in September, she was again dragged into a rumour of a love triangle with actor Kentaro Sakaguchi.
