It was revealed that Yang Zi will play the lead in the upcoming drama, “The Way You Come Back”.
The actress recently confirmed the news on Weibo by sharing details about the project on social media, writing, “After a life of ups and downs, through many storms and surging tides, the magnolia remains serene and pure. It is an honour to step into the legendary life of Dong Zhujun.”
Yang Zi will play the famous female businesswoman, Dong Zhujun, founder of Jin Jiang Hotel and Jin Jiang International Group, who rose from being a brothel singer to become a national entrepreneur and prominent figure in Shanghai.
To be directed by Yang Yang, the story follows A Yuan, who is sold to a Shanghai brothel to become a singer due to destitution and finds her freedom after marrying an army officer, Xia Zhishi. She later starts her new life with her four daughters in Shanghai where she begins to build her legacy.
Filming will begin in November.
