After accusing Lee Yi-kyung of sending explicit messages, an online user has now claimed that they were all fabricated using AI.

The anonymous poster, who claims to be a German fan, retracted the allegation on 22 October, saying that they didn’t know that the posts that started as a joke would receive so much attention.

“I gradually started to believe it was real myself, although I wrote the text and used AI-generated photos,” they stated.

The accuser also apologised for spreading a “malicious rumour” and said that they found themselves getting emotionally involved over time, despite starting off just being a fan.

The accuser was previously adamant that the actor sent her lewd messages

The sudden change of stance surprised many, after the accuser previously stressed that the screenshots of explicit messages sent to them, which include asking them for lewd photos, were really from the actor and that it was linked to his Instagram account.

Despite the poster’s apology, Lee’s agency, Sangyoung ENT, stated that it is still moving ahead with their intention to take legal action.

“We will be taking all measures possible, depending on the gravity of the situation and both the direct and indirect damages inflicted by the disruption,” the agency said.
