Zhao Lusi has been in the news for the past few weeks, from the conflict with her management to her decision to leave Weibo.
As fans waited with bated breath as to what she will do next, it was reported that Lusi has quietly established a new company in her hometown of Chengdu, which has been named Ma Ning Limited Enterprise Management Co., Ltd. The news quickly shot to the top of Weibo’s trending topics.
According to Chinese media, Ma Ning was registered with a capital of RMB 100,000, and its business scope includes internet sales as well as retail of clothing and apparel. The legal representative of the company is Lusi’s father, Zhao Jun, who also serves as a board member. In terms of ownership, Lusi holds 90 percent of the shares, while the remaining 10 is held by another shareholder, Zhu Boxue.
In fact, this isn’t Lusi’s first foray into the business world. Records show that her father is also associated with another company called Fufude Zhao Enterprise Management Co., Ltd. in Chengdu and Beijing. They’ve also applied for a trademark for “FUFUDEZHAO” across all product categories and registered various artistic copyrights.
Interestingly, what caught netizens’ attention was not the business itself, but the name of the new company, which they said sounded like “Money” in English.
