Yu Menglong’s mother has recently released a letter, urging everybody to stop speculating and pointing fingers following the death of the actor back on 11 September.
The open letter, which was forwarded by Yu’s studio on 16 September, read, “My beloved son, Yu Menglong, left us forever after falling from a building due to alcohol consumption. This sudden change has plunged us into deep sorrow. The police have informed me of the investigation, and the funeral arrangements have been completed.”
Yu Menglong’s mother thanked all those who provided care and assistance, and added, “I hope everyone will view this accident rationally and refrain from speculation. I also hope to return to a peaceful life as soon as possible, cherishing the memory of Menglong and striving to live each day well. I believe this is also Menglong’s wish.”
It was back on 11 September that Chinese social media circulated reports saying that a man suspected to be the “Go Princess Go” actor had fallen to his death in a residential community in Chaoyang District of Beijing.
His death was later confirmed by Yu’s studio, stating that the police had ruled out criminal involvement.
He was 37.
