Song Seung-heon recently took to social media to reveal that he has lost his mother.
On 24 September, the actor posted a photo of his mother Moon Myeong-ok as well as her urn that bore the date of her birth and the date of her passing of 20 September 2025 to announce the news of her death.
He wrote, “Mum, you’ve been through so much all this time. Now, please rest peacefully in a place free from pain. Until the day we meet again, I’ll be waiting and waiting for the moment when I can run into your arms and say, “I love you! I missed you so much!” with all my heart.”
“Mum, I love you… I love you… I love you so, so much! From your son, Seungheon, the son of the most beautiful mom in the world,” he added.
Many fans took to the comments to express their condolences, and prayed for Song’s mother to have peace in the afterlife.
The funeral was held privately, and Song, the youngest of three siblings, greeted mourners alongside his older brother and sister at the funeral home. Song had cancelled an interview scheduled for the 25 September on Genie TV’s “My Troublesome Star”.
