Dee Hsu is set to make her public appearance at the upcoming 60th Golden Bell Awards, making it her first official return to the public eye.
Despite her indefinite hiatus halfway through the second season of her show, “Dee Girls Talk”, Dee has been nominated once again alongside co-host Patrick Liu in the Best Variety Show Host category.
With this nomination, she will be facing competition from other worthy nominees including Jacky Wu and Hsu Nai-lin.
It was reported that Dee has already confirmed her attendance, saying, “Yes, I will go. Because this show was something my sister encouraged me to do, and even the name was her idea. So, whether or not I win, even if I’m just sitting there, I want everyone to remember how encouraging and creative my sister was. That’s why I’ll be there.”
“I’m really touched. I really want to call my sister and tell her the good news,” she added.

In a past interview, “Dee Girls Talk” producer B2 revealed that the Mandarin title of the show was given by the late Barbie Hsu.
B2 said that Barbie came to him and said, “B2, I’ve come up with a name for the show! Her name is Xidi, so let’s call it ‘Xiaojie Bu Xidi’— a play on words that sounds like ‘not clean the floor’ in Mandarin. It means modern women can have their own ideas, they don’t have to just clean the house and raise kids after getting married.”
