12 years after the success of “Unbeatable”, Dante Lam recently revealed that he will be directing the sequel to the movie next year, which will reunite him with Nick Cheung.
The filmmaker shared the news at the premiere of his new movie, “Operation Hadal”, saying that the project has been brewing for a while now.
“The character of Ching Fai in the film is so charming, and he’s a character that should be continued. He comforted so many people at the time, and I always rewatch it when I’m feeling down, proving that this kind of character and spirit is something everyone craves,” said Dante.
“Especially today, when everyone is facing so many difficulties, I feel it’s time to bring Ching Fai back and let him fight for us again with his hands.”

When Nick was asked if he will be training like he did back for the first film, the actor said that he can do anything except “build a muscle”.
“If I keep building muscles, it won’t feel new. People aren’t looking at the character’s muscles, but his inspiring spirit, his ability to encourage others. How he gets up and never gives up. It’s not about how big his body is,” he said.
As to whether Eddie Peng will return, Dante said, “I’ve told him about it. He said that if Nick Cheung can do it, there is no reason for him not to.”
In “Unbeatable”, Nick played a former boxing champion who starts life anew in Macau to flee from his debts, only to finally mentors to a young boxer through whom he finds a new lease on life.
