Lawrence Ng has recently denied rumours that he is the person previously mentioned in a blind item about a male star who lost his fortune gambling in Macau.

The actor, who appeared at the promotional event for the drama, “Prism Breakers” on 1 July, was asked about the rumour, and said that him being the person in question is quite impossible as he has not been to any gambling premises for years now.

“I can’t go to those places because a lot of my endorsement contracts prohibit any involvement with gambling or I would have to pay a huge penalty,” he said.

As for the photos of him at a casino, he said that they are already more than 10 years old.

“Back then, it was just small bets. Nothing serious. Just light gambling for fun, a few thousand to ten thousand dollars at most. These days, anything related to gambling is off-limits for me. I won’t even perform at casino venues or take on jobs linked to casino backgrounds,” he said.

On the other hand, speaking about the new drama, Lawrence said that he only has a small role this time and hopes to do more in the future.

“I am not complaining. I just hope for more. But as long as the role has depth, it doesn’t necessarily need a lot of scenes,” he said.
