Ryoko Hirosue has been released from police custody a week after she was detained for allegedly attacking a nurse at a hospital where she was treated.

The actress, who was originally ordered to be detained for 10 days, received an early release on 16 April, after her drug test results showed that no illegal drugs or sleeping pills were detected in her system.

It is noted that the police visited her home in Tokyo on 10 April to search for further information related to the case.

Ryoko bowed to the media before she left

At 5.20 am of 16 April, Ryoko was seen walking out of the police station wearing a black suit and looking haggard. Facing a large number of media personnel stationed outside the police station, she stood in front of the cameras, bowed deeply, and left in a car.

Her company had since released a statement on its official website to apologise to the victim again. It also stated that the actress will honestly take responsibility for her action.

Ryoko was detained after she kicked and scratched a female nurse at a hospital in Shizuoka following a car accident on 7 April, after the said nurse sought to prevent her from wandering around.
