Mei Nagano has recently denied recent rumours that she has been having an affair with married actor Kei Tanaka.
The rumour was first reported by Shukan Bunshun on 23 April, saying that the “Cells at Work” actress has been involved with Tanaka and Korean actor Kim Moo-jun, the latter who co-stars with her in her current series, “Caster”.
They also published a photo of Mei holding hands with the 40-year-old married actor that was taken via her phone on 28 October of last year.

A source claiming to be a friend of Tanaka revealed that the two were not afraid of outsiders’ eyes at the time and often showed off their love openly. However, Mei reportedly began to feel that the extramarital affair was inappropriate and wanted to distance herself from Tanaka and rethink their relationship. Soon after, she was discovered dating her Korean star partner in “Caster,” Kim Moo-jun.
The actress’ agency had since dismissed the rumour, saying, “Both Kei Tanaka and Kim Moo-jun are close seniors and colleagues, and there is no fact of dating. However, we recognise that actions have occurred that have caused misunderstandings this time, and we have been strict with ourselves about this.”
“We apologise for causing great concern and trouble to the fans who support us,” they added.
