Katy Perry couldn’t help but feel relieved as she kissed the ground following her safe return to earth alongside her five other female space travelers.
The pop star, who joined the Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket journey to space to mark the first all-female flight since 1963, admitted that she felt “super connected to life” and “so connected to love” as they descended back on the ground after 11 minutes of their 100km journey above Earth.
She also lifted a daisy to the sky, seemingly to acknowledge her daughter Daisy.

Katy was joined by Lauren Sanchez, the fiancée of Blue Origin’s owner, Jeff Bezos, as well as TV host Gayle King, former Nasa rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, and film producer Kerianne Flynn.
The New Shepard rocket was launched from its West Texas site just after 8.30am on 14 April. It landed back on Earth with a parachute-assisted soft landing. It is noted that Katy also sang Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World” during the flight.
The last female spaceflight was helmed by Soviet Cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova, who became the first woman to travel into space on a solo mission aboard the spacecraft Vostok 6.
