Making her TV comeback through the new sitcom, “My Papa Pi”, Pia Wurtzbach recently admitted that it was something unexpected.
As reported on Push, the beauty queen, who has not worked in a TV drama for a while now, stated that she didn’t think she would be returning to television at all this year.
“I don’t expect that just because I’m Miss Universe that I will be given projects, because you have to deserve it and prove yourself. It’s been about ten years since I last had a role in a TV show,” she said.
It is noted that Pia’s last drama role was an episode in TV5’s horror TV series, “Third Eye”, which was aired back in 2012, three years before she won Miss Universe. Although she had since appeared in several shows, it was more or less as a host of a show like “World of Dance Philippines” or as a performer, like in “ASAP”.
In a previous interview, Pia stated that one of the reasons she decided to accept the offer to do “My Papa Pi” was to work with Cathy Garcia-Molina again, as well as co-stars Piolo Pascual and Pepe Herrera.
“Of course when I found out, I said yes right away, as in the same day I was asked,” she said.
