After postponing its previous opening date due to the pandemic, it was revealed that the highly-anticipated Game of Thrones studio tour is set to open to the public next year.

The news was announced by Warner Bros. Themed Entertainment and Linen Mill Studios, stating that the official Game of Thrones Studio Tour, located at Linen Mills Studios in Banbridge, will open to the public on February 4, 2022.

“Over the past decade, Northern Ireland has welcomed fans from around the globe to the ‘real-world Westeros’ – home to the stunning landscapes, coastlines and mountains that have featured in some of the show’s most memorable scenes,” said Niall Gibbons, the Chief Executive of Tourism Ireland. “Within easy reach of Dublin and Belfast, the new Game of Thrones Studio Tour will give fans a fantastic opportunity to go behind the scenes and be immersed in the sets, props and costumes used in the series. It will bring the Seven Kingdoms vividly to life, in the place where it all began.”

The 110,000 sq ft interactive experience will enable fans to explore a variety of sets, costumes, props, and set pieces similar to the HBO series, from the iconic Great Hall of Winterfell (where Jon Snow was proclaimed the King in the North, no matter how short the stint was!), the meeting hall in Dragonstone (where Daenerys Targaryen, Tyrion Lannister, Olenna Tyrell and more discussed their strategies), to the Map Room where Cersei Lannister plot her way to defend King’s Landing.
