Japanese singer GACKT was recently revealed to have taken an indefinite hiatus due to poor health.
As reported on Epoch Times, the news was announced by his agency via his official website on 8 September, writing, “After GACKT returned on August 6, (the company) received a contact from him saying that his physical condition was not good. It didn’t take long for his body to undergo drastic changes.”
“The reason was that he suffered from neurological diseases as a child that triggered life-threatening condition.”
The agency went on to say that GACKT’s condition had been deteriorating for several weeks and he had lost 10kg of weight because of it, but assured that he is now in a stable condition.
“He will return overseas to see his doctor for a thorough examination of his chronic illness and vocal disorder, and then focus on treatment in order to resume his activities,” the agency added.
It was reported that GACKT, real name Gakuto Oshiro, was originally scheduled to start filming the sequel to 2019’s “Fly Me To The Saitama”, but filming had to be suspended due to his condition.
