Although it’s been a year since her high-profile breakup, Bea Alonzo admitted that she is still working on forgiveness.
As reported on Manila Bulletin, the actress recently opened up about the challenge of moving on in an interview with Edward Barber’s “Kwentong Barber” segment on MYX Philippines, saying that she is going through it day by day.
“Every day is a new day. Every day brings different feelings, different news, different experiences. So when you feel like you’re already there, there is something new to absorb. And then you will forget your goal to forgive,” she said.
Alonzo admitted that she is trying her hardest to be forgiving, adding that what she actually looked for is accountability.
“But then I realised, even if [they] don’t apologise, you should forgive, right? But it’s easier said than done, to be honest,” she confessed.
Although Alonzo made no mention as to whom she was referring to, many agreed that the actress was talking about ex-boyfriend Gerald Anderson, who is now dating fellow actress Julia Barretto. The actress previously accused Anderson of ghosting her and not taking accountability over the end of their relationship.
It is noted that Alonzo and Anderson began dating again in 2018, several years after the two dated for the first time. The romance was short-lived after Anderson was accused of cheating on the actress with his “Between Maybes” co-star Julia Barretto in 2019. Both Anderson and Barretto denied the allegation at the time, though they had since announced their relationship earlier this year.
