Britain’s Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expecting their second child.
The news was recently confirmed by the couple’s spokesman, who stated, “We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child.”
The pregnancy revelation came three months after the former “Suits” star spoke about her miscarriage that occurred in July last year. They had welcomed their first child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor in May 2019.
An intimate photograph of Harry and Meghan that showed her baby bump, was released to celebrate the announcement. |
The couple shocked many last year when they announced that they have stepped back as senior members of Britain’s royal family, citing the intrusions and racist attitudes of the British media as the reasons for their decision. The move has been dubbed as Megxit by the British press.
They had since moved to the US.
On the other hand, a Buckingham Palace spokesman released a statement saying, “Her Majesty, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales and the entire family are delighted and wish them well.”
Harry and Meghan are currently busy with their production studio, after inking a deal with Netflix to produce TV series, documentaries, feature films and kids’ programming that they hope will impact and inspire many to take action. The two have also launched their own non-profit organisation, Archewell.
