Zhao Lusi has attracted attention after it was revealed that she will not only be starring in a new drama series, but will also be directing it.
Mainland Chinese video platform Youku recently released its list of dramas to be broadcast in 2027, and it didn’t take long before netizens noticed Lusi’s name being linked to a drama called “Farewell Letter” where she not only plays the lead role but also makes her directorial debut.
The drama reportedly is an adaptation of German author Kerstin Gier’s rom-com novel, “For Every Solution, a Problem (Für jede Lösung ein Problem),” which tells the story of a trashy-romance writer who fails in a suicide attempt and now has to face all those she’s offended with her farewell letters.
It was reported that Lusi herself found the script, bought the copyright, and led the team to assemble the production.
The project reportedly will consist of 10 episodes, each approximately 45 minutes long, and is scheduled to begin filming in Chengdu in October.
