A Shanghai-based medical institution has denied rumours that it has recently treated Dylan Wang for a medical aesthetic mishap.
The whole rumour sparked on 16 September, when a batch of social media chat records suddenly went viral online claiming that a popular male celebrity had suffered an embolism after getting hyaluronic acid injections in Shanghai.
Public opinion quickly turned toward Dylan, and an entertainment blogger then created a vulgar and defamatory hashtag to specifically smear the actor.
This false hashtag quickly spread across the internet, misleading many others.
After the rumours spread, Dylan’s studio quickly posted a message with the location of a Beijing police station, officially announcing that it had collected evidence and formally reported the case to the police for accountability.
The medical facility has also released a statement regarding the matter, saying, “We hereby solemnly declare the following: 1. Upon verification, the individual involved in the incident did not receive medical treatment or services at our organisation, nor did any doctor-patient relationship exist between them and our organisation. 2. Our organisation does not offer the specific medical procedure involved in the incident, nor do we possess any records of such treatment or operations. Any content attributing the incident to, or linking it with, our organisation or our medical staff is entirely false.”
The medical institution also stated that it has secured evidence regarding this misinformation and reserves the right to pursue legal action against the organisations and individuals responsible for fabricating or disseminating it.
