Cheryl Yang has recently laughed off reports that she is taking a six-month-long break from showbiz to seek a surrogate mother in the United States.

On 11 September, the actress, who spoke to the media at a home furnishing brand event, smiled helplessly at rumours that she was looking to find a surrogate mother in the United States during her break, saying, “Everyone really loves to write their own script.”

When asked about her desire to have a child, Cheryl said, “I have tried many methods to prepare for pregnancy and have a child. I have worked very hard in this regard and I am still working on it.”

She then explained that her trip to the United States was simply to change her environment, relax, and spend time with her husband, as she hadn’t had a proper rest in a long time.

“I hope people will not overthink this,” she added.

The actress also said that she has no intention of retiring from showbiz, and that she had simply wanted to change her environment.

“If there is a good project coming in during this time, I will look forward to it,” she added.
