He may look good from the outside, but Zhang Linghe recently revealed that he has been struggling with several ailments due to his career as an actor.

In a recent appearance on the variety show, “Our Dormitory,” the 28-year-old actor listed four major ailments that currently plague him, including severe insomnia, caffeine dependence, and a recurring knee injury.

Zhang revealed that during the filming of “The Road to Glory”, he seriously injured his knee to the extent that he was unable to bend and needed help to walk. However, in order not to delay the filming schedule and not to worry his fans, he chose to endure it with acupuncture and physical therapy, and reassured everyone that it was just a “common sprain”.

He also revealed that he once lost so much weight for a role that he became dangerously weak, he was too light for his 190cm height, and needed assistance to stand up.”

When asked why he didn’t choose to temporarily stop working and take a break, Zhang revealed that he was always anxious when he doesn’t work. However, he would also develop dependency on caffeine when he is busy, to the extent that he received a stern warning from a doctor after developing severe heart palpitations because of it.

Nonetheless, Zhang said that he has now learned to achieve a balance between work and life, trying to take appropriate rest to restore his physical condition to a healthy level.
