YUQI, the Chinese member of the popular South Korean girl group I-DLE, has recently addressed her health situation, after it was revealed that she has suffered a severe head injury during the group’s tour.
The whole issue sparked after the singer, real name Song Yuqi, encountered a series of accidents, from injuring her knee at a Seoul show, being hit in the eye by pyrotechnics at a Taipei show, to suffering a severe head injury during a stage lift malfunction at a Bangkok show on 21 March.
On 24 March, the singer appeared unwell while attending a brand event, frequently rubbing her temples and leaning on staff. It was confirmed on the 25th that she would be temporarily unable to participate in the recording of a variety show due to her injuries, causing further concern among fans.
In response, YUQI took to Weibo to explain the situation, saying that she only felt some swelling and pain following the mishap, initially thinking it wasn’t a big deal. However, it wasn’t until after her work event on the 23rd that her dizziness returned, along with migraines.
Realising the situation wasn’t simple, she immediately went to the hospital for a checkup.
“Currently, the doctor advised me to continue resting and observing… My parents are here with me now, so I hope you won’t worry too much. I will listen to the doctor, take the prescribed medication, get the necessary checkups, and adjust my physical condition as soon as possible,” she said.
“I posted this message to tell everyone not to worry too much. It’s my fault for not taking good care of myself. I also hope you all take care and don’t get injured. I’ve always told you to stay healthy, but I failed this time, and I’m very sorry. So, I hope you can all stay safe and healthy, okay? I miss you all so much and I really want to see you again soon. I love you all so much. I’m sorry for making you worry and disappointed…”
