Coming back to Malaysia on the New Year, Fan Bingbing was finally united with her Golden Horse Best Actress accolade.
The actress, who was unable to attend the ceremony in Taipei back in November, had her accolade accepted on her behalf by “Mother Bhumi” director Chong Keat Aun, who had been keeping it for her ever since. The movie’s theatrical release dates for Malaysia and Singapore are not confirmed for the time being. It is noted that the movie is doing very well in Taiwan and has crossed the one million mark.
On 1 January, Fan shared several photos of her with the coveted Best Actress trophy, captioning it, “With passion, we can overcome anything. My dear friends, let’s keep going together!”
Chong also posted their meeting to hand over the trophy, writing, “Before the end of 2025, the final function of the year as director, finally handed the best actress” trophy into the hands of the rightful owner. Now watching Fan Bingbing cheerfully holding the Golden Horse, it reminded of when she followed us to the countryside to live in Kedah Village. Those pictures of going to the fields, planting rice, leading the water buffalos, picking vegetables, cooking, and performing ritual cleansing ceremonies.”
Following the meeting, Fan also attended the New Year event, where she received the Melaka International Cultural Diplomacy Icon Award.
