Following news of his critical condition, it was revealed that TVB veteran actor Benz Hui has passed away.
His family announced the tragic news on 28 October, stating that Benz passed away peacefully at 2.30 AM due to multiple organ failure caused by cancer. He was surrounded by his family and many friends during his last hour.
The day before yesterday, news broke that the veteran star was critically ill and was hospitalised. Many of his friends, including Wong Cho Lam, Raymond Lam, Ron Ng, Bosco Wong, Michael Miu and his wife Michelle Yim, and Edwin Siu and his wife Priscilla Wong, rushed to the hospital to visit him.
Benz’s family also thanked all friends for their concern and visits to the hospital. Friends outside Hong Kong have also called to offer their condolences. The family will announce the funeral arrangements soon.
Benz had been in the industry for over 50 years. He first appeared in a commercial radio drama series in 1970 and joined the first TVB Artist Training Class in 1971, and joined TVB after graduation.
The actor had appeared in over 100 TVB dramas and many more films, including “The Untold Story,” “My Lady,” “Line Walker,” and “The Hippocratic Crush.”
He was 76.
