Xu Kai has addressed the most recent rumour about him by issuing a legal notice.
The Chinese actor, who was previously accused by a supposed ex-girlfriend of cheating, has now been accused of engaging in gambling to a point of setting up a “private casino” at his luxury home in Hengdian.
The allegations were made by a blogger on 8 September, stating that Xu Kai is fond of playing poker and often gathers with a group of card-playing friends to gamble, reportedly betting tens of thousands of yuan at a time, amounting to over a million annually.
Screenshots of transfers and chat messages were also shared by the said blogger as “evidence”.
Mainland media had contacted the relevant authorities, and the Hengdian Branch of the Dongyang City Public Security Bureau in Zhejiang Province responded that they were “aware of the matter.”
In response to the allegation, Xu Kai’s camp releases a statement from the law firm representing them, stating that the allegations made by the blogger are not consistent with the facts.
“On behalf of Huanyu Film and Mr. Xu Kai, our lawyers are continuing to take appropriate legal action against various acts of infringement on Mr. Xu Kai’s reputation that have been disseminated on online platforms,” they added.
