Song Jia has recently bested crowd favourite Yang Zi to win Best Actress at the 33rd Golden Eagle Awards.
The actress was awarded the trophy, which was held in Changsha on 29 September, for her performance in ” She and Her Girls” – for her role as Zhang Guimei in the drama. This makes it the second time she has won at the Golden Eagle Awards. The drama is based on real events and focuses on the challenges of rural education. The drama is also known as “When Mountain Flowers Bloom.”
In her acceptance speech, she thanked all the other nominees and revealed that she attended the Golden Eagle Awards for the first time back in 2010.
“Thank you to the Golden Eagle for witnessing my growth. In the future, I will continue to work hard, make good films, be a good person and share kindness and love with the world,” she expressed.
Winning the award also meant that she is now the first actress to have won the Magnolia Awards, the Golden Eagle and the Golden Rooster, aka the Grand Slam, twice.
She won her first Golden Eagle in 2012 in the Audience’s Choice for Actress category for “The Brink”.
