Kathy Yuen recently denied having changed her career, after she was photographed by netizens wearing a beautician’s uniform while at a shopping mall.
The actress, who attended the premiere of her new movie, “The Mage,” clarified to the media that she was not taking on another job, and that it was a friend who had invited her to invest in a business.
“Since I knew nothing about the industry, I decided to go to visit the business personally to learn how it operates,” she said.
As for the uniform, Kathy explained that she was originally wearing light-coloured clothing and was worried about getting it dirty, and hence was given the uniform to wear as it was more practical.
Kathy said that the visit was her only time at the beauty salon and that she never expected to be photographed by someone there.
When asked if she planned to invest after learning more, she admitted she needed to understand the industry better, stating that it was just a side job, and acting remains her main profession.
The actress said that apart from film “The Mage,” which is currently in cinemas, she had also just completed a guest appearance in an upcoming Lunar New Year film.
