After previously dismissing rumours of Jeong Ye-in’s casting, Netflix finally confirmed that the singer-actress will be joining the new seasons of “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call”.
The streamer announced the good news on 29 September, saying simply, “Yein will appear in the upcoming season of ‘The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call.’”
The Lovelyz member’s casting was first reported last week, but Netflix was mum on the details, saying nothing has been confirmed yet.
“Casting discussions are underway,” it added.
Popularly known as Yein, the singer’s casting came after Ha Young, who played the role of nurse Cheon Jang-mi in the first season, announced her departure from the next season of the series, following the backlash that stems from revelation that her great-grandfather was Ahn Sang-ho, a doctor during the Japanese colonial period who was reportedly engaged in pro-Japanese activities.
It is noted that season 2 and 3 of the series will be filmed simultaneously starting next month.
