Amid the uproar over her drama, “The VI Group of Fatal Case,” which is the prequel of the long-running crime investigation series franchise, actress Li Muchen (aka Daisy Li) took to social media to apologise for the drama.
The actress, who plays the younger version of Ji Jie, which was made famous by veteran actress Wang Qian, was previously criticised for her portrayal of the character, with many stating that her version had no similarities to the character they have already known and loved.
They stated that her Ji Jie was too emotional and lacked the composure of a criminal police officer.
In response to the criticisms, Li took to social media and posted, “Since the drama began airing, I have sincerely accepted all the criticism and doubts directed at me. It was an honour to portray Ji Jie, and I have always carried a strong sense of responsibility, knowing that I must do justice to this character.”
She stated that she realised there were still many shortcomings in her portrayal of the character, and apologised for not being able to live up to the expectations everyone had for it.
“All the regrets and criticism will be transformed into motivation to keep moving forward. From now on, I will approach every character with greater humility and respect, carefully honing my craft and striving not to let down the expectations placed in me,” she added.
