Fred Cheng has recently defended his wife Stephanie Ho, amid accusations that she abandoned their child in Canada to work in Hong Kong.
The singer, who spoke to Fion Yung on her YouTube channel, shared that he and Stephanie share one common goal, which is to ensure their son Asher, who is diagnosed with Angelman syndrome, receives the most appropriate care.
Dismissing the notion of abandonment, Fred said that he and Stephanie have already coordinated their division of labour. Since he is currently free and has a more flexible schedule, he is the one to stay in Canada as much as possible to be with their son.
Meanwhile, he said, his wife has already signed on for several jobs in Hong Kong, including her Asian Games commitments, which makes it difficult for her to stay for an extended period.
Fred also stated that, having grown up in Canada, it was easier for him to adapt to the local environment. He also plans to work in the country so that he can stay close to their son.
It is noted that Stephanie previously revealed that they have decided to move Asher to Canada so that he can be close to the BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, which has a specialised clinic for treating his condition.
