Christine Fan seems to have accidentally angered netizens when speaking about her husband, Blackie Chen, who was rushed to the hospital after suffering a heart attack recently.

The singer, who was recently seen going to the hospital to check on Blackie’s condition, spoke to the media on the scene, saying that the surgery had gone very smoothly.

However, she added that Blackie was experiencing a slight irregular heart rhythm and needed to remain in the ICU for another day.

Christine, also known as Fan Fan by fans, revealed that she was recording a song when she suddenly received news that her husband had suffered an acute myocardial infarction.  Fortunately, he received timely treatment and underwent surgery to have a stent inserted into his heart.

However, it was her next statement that surprised many, when she said, “I thank God for protecting him. Blackie was originally supposed to go to Nagoya for a business meeting, and I tried everything to stop him from going, so he didn’t make the trip. Thank goodness he really didn’t go. Otherwise, he could have ended up like [Barbie Hsu]. You know what I mean? I was really terrified.”

Her remarks about Barbie, who passed away while vacationing in Japan, drew heavy criticism from netizens, with some accusing her of using Barbie’s death for attention.

However, others defended the singer, saying that she was simply worried about her husband, having lost her best friend a year prior.
