Stray Kids’ Bang Chan has donated over KRW 100 million to help children affected by floods in Nepal.
The news was confirmed by the Korean Committee for UNICEF on 20 September, saying that the funds will be used entirely for emergency relief for affected children and their families through the UNICEF Nepal office.
It will be used not only for health and nutrition support, but also for psychosocial support and temporary learning spaces.
Said Bang Chan, real name Christopher Chahn Bahng, “I wanted to offer a small measure of comfort to those who are going through exhausting and difficult times. I sincerely hope that many people will regain their peaceful daily lives as soon as possible.”
It is noted that the disaster in Nepal, which occurred back on 26 August, affected more than 80,000 people, among them about 32,000 children and 1,800 people with disabilities.
In addition to the KRW 100 million to UNICEF, Bang Chan has also donated the same amount to Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital.
