Zhang Yue’s team has recently released a statement blasting the misuse of AI to generate improper images of the actress.
The incident occurred on 3 August, when a prominent blogger used AI to create a distorted animal image using the actress’ photos. The image was then forwarded by multiple verified accounts accompanied by sarcastic captions, sparking anger among her fans.
In response to the dissemination of the image, her studio revealed that they are fully aware of the incident and does not support or tolerate any behaviour that infringes upon the artiste’s portrait rights or damages the artiste’s image through AI generation, malicious alteration, or other means.
“The studio will continue to monitor such infringements and resolutely safeguard Zhang Yue’s legitimate rights, and will take legal action when necessary,” it stated.
They also urged all parties to jointly maintain a healthy online environment, remain rational, and uphold basic respect for artistes.
“Love should be built on respect and goodwill; let’s work together with tolerance and goodwill to build a clean and friendly online environment for idol worship.”
