There is no getting over netizens’ ire, it seems, as Grace Chan recently found herself getting blasted for old photos of her riding the tram.
It all started with the cinema incident, when Grace’s 6-year-old son was revealed to have been splashed with cream by a cinemagoer after the screening of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”, reportedly following a dispute over her son’s behaviour during the show. Following the incident, Grace revealed that she has already lodged a report with the police.
However, despite netizens’ empathy for her son, they were not very empathetic towards the actress herself, who they said failed to control her children during the screening.
Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the issue, netizens recently shared old photos on social media of Grace riding a tram, reigniting the issue of “civic virtue.” The photos show Grace sitting on a lower bench, engrossed in her phone and holding a drink, with a grey blazer folded on her lap and a shopping bag, handbag, and coat occupying the seats on either side of her.
The caption read, “To understand a person’s character, you need to look at their daily habits,” adding hashtags like “knows how to raise a child but not how to educate them,” directly criticising her behaviour.
While some joined in on bashing the actress, others defended Grace, saying that people are just piling on for the sake of celebrity bashing.
They also pointed out that the narrow space wouldn’t be enough to accommodate another passenger even if the actress removed all her items.
