Carina Lau recently expressed her hope for Stephen Chow to return to acting and maybe work with her husband Tony Leung Chiu Wai.
The actress, who recently made a cameo in Stephen’s “Kung Fu Soccer,” said that she actually asked the filmmaker to make a cameo appearance with her in the movie when he first offered her the role, but that he refused to do so.
“As his friend and a viewer, I really hope he can come back to acting again. I really look forward to working with him again when I’m in my 60s,” she said.
She also described Stephen Chow as a “reclusive master” and jokingly added that her husband Tony also has a similar demeanour. Funnily enough, both stars have been friends since they were teenagers.
“Tony Leung is a genius, Stephen Chow is an eccentric genius… I feel very lucky to have met such masters,” she added.
The actress said that whenever the two meet, they would sit upright and quiet, with her sandwiched between them.
“If they could have a collaboration of the century, I’m sure people will be very excited. It will be something that all viewers are really looking forward to,” she added.
