Sammi Cheng has finally concluded her thank you shows, after previously having to postpone her three-day concert due to a technical issue.
The singer, who spoke to the media after the show, spoke about the reason for the cancellation of her “You & Mi” concert, which was originally slated for 10 to 12 July, saying that it was caused by some problem with the stage mechanism.
“Don’t underestimate even a small screw or component. In mechanics, size matters, and it needs to be taken very seriously. Even a bigger show can’t compare to personal safety. Prevention is better than cure, and I agree with that,” she said.
Sammi, however, admitted that she was disappointed that the original event had to be postponed indefinitely because of that.
“But I’ll put disappointment last and safety first. This incident also showed the company’s united effort to do things well; that energy was very heartwarming,” she added.
When asked how much money she lost, Sammi said that she had been busy preparing for the thank-you event in the past few days and had no time to deal with other things.
As for when the concert will be rescheduled, Sammi said she doesn’t know yet, but she will arrange the schedule as soon as possible and hopes it can be done within a year.
“It shouldn’t be too early or too soon,” she added.
