Some of Hong Kong’s biggest stars recently expressed their grief over the loss of Shi Nansun, the celebrated Hong Kong producer, who passed away on 14 July.
Following the news of Shi’s passing, Carina Lau took to social media to share a black and white photo of herself, husband Tony Leung Chiu Wai and the producer, and wrote, “Grateful that our paths crossed in this lifetime.”
“I learned countless lessons about life and how to treat others from you. To Tony and me, you were a woman we deeply admired and an extraordinary filmmaker. May you rest in peace in heaven,” she expressed.

Jackie Chan also expressed his sadness over the loss, posting a couple of photos of himself with Shi, and writing, “It is with great shock to hear the news of Nansun Shi’s passing. The film industry has lost another legendary figure.”
“I’m sure that no matter when we look back at her outstanding achievements, everyone will remember the spirit and integrity of this person behind those classic works. Big sister Nansun, rest in peace. We pay our deepest respects to you and will remember you forever.”

As for Brigitte Lin, who is known to have been a close friend of Shi for over 40 years, the former actress wrote, “Reluctant, reluctant, but I have to let go. As Shi’s best friend, the best way to repay her is to pass on my best energy, just like she did.”
She was 75.
