Following the statement made by Chen Tianxiang, actress Liu Nian has decided to deny rumours of a love triangle between her, actor Chen Tianxiang, and fellow actor He Congrui, which has been circulating online recently.
On 29 June, the actress posted the statement on her Weibo account, writing, “Recently, some Weibo marketing accounts maliciously published and spread false rumours targeting me, fabricating romantic scandals, seriously infringing upon my legitimate rights and interests, and damaging my reputation and acting career.”
Liu stated that these marketing accounts made up false information such as improper relationships through vague references, and that after spreading online, these rumours generated tens of millions of views, misleading the public and causing serious negative impacts on her work and her mental well-being.
“I hereby solemnly warn all infringing parties: delete all false content within 24 hours of this statement, cease spreading rumours, and issue a public apology to mitigate the impact. If you refuse to rectify the situation within the specified time, I will resolutely file a lawsuit, demanding a public apology, compensation for losses, and that you bear all legal costs; in serious cases, I will further pursue administrative and criminal liability,” she said.
Liu also stressed that she is against malicious online marketing and rumour-mongering, and will have zero tolerance for those who fabricate and spread rumours.
“I hope that netizens will rationally verify information, not believe or spread rumours, and jointly safeguard a civilised and orderly cyberspace,” she added.
